About the Firm
Tyler J. Gately, Esq.
Founding Attorney
Tyler began his career in complex commercial and white-collar litigation. He represented professionals, public servants, and executives facing government investigations, internal inquiries, and disciplinary proceedings, where a career and a reputation can be lost long before any charge is filed. Those cases demanded exacting preparation, thorough investigation, and careful judgment, and he brings that same level of detail and advocacy to every client he serves.
Criminal defense remains the heart of his practice. Tyler has represented clients in several hundred criminal matters, from town court misdemeanors to serious felonies. He handles every stage of a criminal case, from arraignment and bail through motions, trial, sentencing, and appeal.
Tyler grew up in Lockport, New York, and graduated magna cum laude from the University at Buffalo School of Law, where he finished in the top five percent of his class and served as Executive Editor of the Buffalo Law Review. He founded Gately Law to serve the Western New York community he has always called home.
